Huayue Gu
Assistant Professor in Information Technology
Kennesaw State University

I am an Assistant Professor in the Information Technology Department at Kennesaw State University. Before joining KSU, I received my Ph.D. in Computer Science from North Carolina State University (NCSU) in 2025, supervised by Dr. Ruozhou Yu. I received my MS degree in Computer Science from University of California, Riverside in 2021 and received my BS degree in Computer Science from Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications in 2019.

I am actively looking for self-motivated Ph.D. in Computer Science/M.S./Undergraduate students to work in the area of quantum networking and communication, distributed quantum computing, satellite networks, machine learning and network optimization!
Students interested in these research areas and considering joining my group are welcome to contact me via email. Please attach your CV, academic transcripts, publications (if applicable), and I will do my best to help in your journey once we have a commitment to each other. (Please start your email's subject line with [Future-PhD]).

Our paper on cost-aware high-fidelity entanglement distribution and purification was accepted by IEEE/ACM Transactions on Networking. This paper explores the trade-off between cost and rate/fidelity of entanglement distribution, and finds the most cost-efficient way of serving requests. Congratulations to all!
07/2025
Our paper on quantum satellite constellation design was accepted by IEEE MASS 2025, to be held in Chicago, USA. Congratulations to all!
05/2025
Honored to present my work on global-scale entanglement distribution in a satellite-assisted quantum Internet at the 2025 Annual Quantum Symposium. I truly appreciated the opportunity to connect face-to-face with researchers, and to discuss recent advances in the Quantum Networking and Communications session.
